{"id":314,"date":"2014-10-04T09:15:16","date_gmt":"2014-10-04T16:15:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/192.168.205.130\/?p=314"},"modified":"2014-10-04T09:18:34","modified_gmt":"2014-10-04T16:18:34","slug":"turtle-crossing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lewismoon.com\/?p=314","title":{"rendered":"Turtle Crossing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This morning, I passed a turtle on the edge of\u00a0traffic. \u00a0It had retreated into it&#8217;s\u00a0shell, but was facing the middle of the road. \u00a0I stopped, put on the blinkers, and backed up\u00a0next to the turtle. \u00a0Other cars stopped while I carried it\u00a0across to a spot on the other side of the roadway. \u00a0As I drove away, happy to have done a small good deed, memories of my father flooded in.<\/p>\n<p>Helping a turtle across the road was something\u00a0Dad\u00a0would have done &#8212; \u00a0and did whenever he had the chance. \u00a0I could imagine\u00a0myself, as a child in the back seat, groaning about the delay. \u00a0My father taught me to appreciate the turtles in life.
